It highlights important research issues within geriatric syndromes, institutional contributions, regional distribution, and publication trends. 331 publications are listed in WoS, compared to 126 in Scopus. The yearly distribution patterns of the two databases are comparable, with noteworthy peaks occurring in 2000, 2010, and 2019. Strangely, there are no articles in 2024 according to both databases, which calls for more research. After Japan (35), Spain (28), and the United States (42) in terms of publications per country. Well-known establishments are Harvard Medical School and Johns Hopkins University. Two of the most often referenced studies, Inouye et al. (2007) and Tinetti et al. (1995), focus on important geriatric disorders, sarcopenia and frailty. With 25 publications, the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society takes first place. Six theme clusters, comprising fundamental concerns like disability, falls, and frailty, are revealed using keyword co-occurrence analysis. The results emphasize the necessity of ongoing financing for research on aging syndromes and draw attention to important research gaps and new trends. The sharp decline in 2024 publication numbers and dependence on two databases are acknowledged drawbacks that point to areas in need of greater research and thorough examinations in the future.
2024-07-31T05:28:46+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Nova Relida Samosir, Siti Muawanahhttps://jtk.poltekkes-pontianak.ac.id/index.php/JTKB/article/view/314Aerobic Exercise Improves Cognitive Function in Sedentary Young Adults Without Cognitive Impairment2024-08-28T02:58:59+00:00Sari Triyuliantisari.tri.y@univrab.ac.idYose Rizalsari.tri.y@univrab.ac.idAfifah Dwi Tifanisari.tri.y@univrab.ac.id
Physical exercise can improve cognitive function of older adults, but the influence of young adults is less clear. The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of aerobic exercise on cognitive function of sedentary young adults without cognitive impairment. This study used an experimental method with pre and post test designs on 20 young adults according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Samples were randomly divided into two groups, the control group and the aerobic exercise group. The control group did not do the exercise. The aerobic group exercised by running for 30 minutes (64-76% of maximal heart rate), three time per week for four weeks. Cognitive function was measured using stroop task test. The results showed that there was a significant increase in cognitive function in the aerobic exercise group (p<0.05). There was a significant difference in cognitive function between the aerobic exercise group and the control group (p<0.05). In conclusion, aerobic exercise over four weeks can increase cognitive function in sedentary young adults without cognitive impairment.
2024-07-31T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Sari Triyuliantihttps://jtk.poltekkes-pontianak.ac.id/index.php/JTKB/article/view/313Hubungan Pemahaman Lansia Terhadap Resiko Jatuh2024-08-03T17:16:29+00:00Sitimuawanahsiti.muawanah@univrab.ac.idIsmaningsihsiti.muawanah@univrab.ac.idNova Relida Samosirsiti.muawanah@univrab.ac.idMay Valzonsiti.muawanah@univrab.ac.id
The Falls in the elderly are a major cause of illness and death worldwide. Falls are associated with risk factors. Worldwide, the proportion of people aged 60 years was 14% in 2013 and is expected to increase to 19% in 2050. This quantitative descriptive study aims to understand the risk factors associated with falls in the elderly at Integrated Healthcare Center (Posyandu) Kasih Ibu located on Jl. Singgalang Satu, RT 1, RW 07, East Tangkerang Village, Pekanbaru, Riau Province. This research used a cross-sectional survey method involving 100 elderly people at Integrated Healthcare Center (posyandu), a sample of 45 people with 15 men and 30 women, selected through total sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire adopted from the Outcome Measure Toolkit for Geriatric Fall/Balance Assessment, administered before and after the fall risk and prevention webinar. The results showed that the average age of participants was 60.71 years with a standard deviation of 9.99. The majority were women, reflecting the higher prevalence of falls among women due to physiological differences. Health parameters such as maximum systolic 192 mmHg, and maximum diastolic blood pressure 130 mmHg and maximum blood glucose 371 mg/dL levels were analyzed showing a significant data influence on the risk of falls. The pre-webinar questionnaire indicated a general lack of knowledge about fall risks and prevention. Post-webinar analysis which was carried out twice and then processed using the Wilcoxon test showed a significant increase in understanding the risk of falls, with the average score increasing from 2.27 ± 0.97 to 4.27 ± 0.96 (P = 0.000). This shows that educational webinars can effectively increase older people's knowledge about the risk of falls and prevention strategies. These findings are in line with previous research highlighting the importance of continuing health education in reducing the incidence of falls and improving the quality of life of older adults.
2024-08-03T02:14:25+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Sitimuawanah, Ismaningsih, Nova Relida Samosir, May Valzonhttps://jtk.poltekkes-pontianak.ac.id/index.php/JTKB/article/view/319The Relationship between Incorrect Body Posture in Elementary School Children on Idiopathic Scoliosis2024-08-28T02:37:17+00:00Renni Hidayati Zeinrenni.hidayati.z@univrab.ac.idAyu Permatarenni.hidayati.z@univrab.ac.id
Idiopathic scoliosis is a condition of spinal deformity characterized by abnormal lateral curvature. The factor that is thought to play a role in the development of idiopathic scoliosis is incorrect body posture. This research is a correlation study which aims to determine the significant relationship between incorrect body posture and the incidence of idiopathic scoliosis in elementary school children. This research approach uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive quantitative research type with a correlational model. Research data was obtained through questionnaires, documentation and measurements using a scoliometer. The population in this study were all sixth grade students at SDIT Bangkinang Elementary School, totaling 35 students. Independent variable is a sitting position using the Questionnaire on Body Awareness of Postural Habits in Young People (Q BAPHYP) measurement tool. The dependent variable is scoliosis measured using the Adam's Forward bending test. Data analysis techniques are descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis. After analyzing the research results, it shows that incorrect body posture has a significant relationship with the incidence of idiopathic scoliosis in elementary school children as proven by the results of data analysis, p= 0.000 or p< 0.05. The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant relationship between incorrect body posture and the incidence of idiopathic scoliosis in elementary school children.
2024-08-27T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Renni Hidayati Zein, Ayu Permatahttps://jtk.poltekkes-pontianak.ac.id/index.php/JTKB/article/view/355Basic Sanitation Factors Affecting Diarrheal Disease in Toddlers: Observations in the Working Area of Tambakrejo Health Center2024-11-13T05:42:51+00:00Debora Lasma Uli Sigalinggingdeboralasma517@gmail.comSetiawansetiawan.jemblung63@gmail.comSuprijandanisuprijandani@gmail.comNgadinobungdino1960@gmail.comAhmad Daudsyah Imamiahmad.imami@tl.itera.ac.id
Diarrhoea is a condition in which a person feels defecation with liquid or watery stools, generally occurring more than three times per day.
